AIFO is involved in different field research initiatives, related to community-based rehabilitation (CBR) programmes, leprosy programmes, mental health programmes, etc. For example, Mandya CBR Research initiative is innovative research using quantitative, emancipatory and participatory approaches of research to take a fresh look at a CBR programme in a district in India. First World CBR Congress

AIFO is organising two workshops at the first World CBR Congress to be held in Agra (India) in November 2012. Find out more about these workshops.

The theme of Pre-congress workshop will be Intellectual disabilities.

The post-congress workshop will look at two taboo areas - (1) right to intimacy, affective relationships and sexuality (2) Exploitation, abuse and violence towards persons with disabilities.

Impact of CBR: Results of first phase of S-PARK/CBR Research

The first phase of S-PARK/CBR involved a survey among 2500 persons with disabilities. The results of this research are now available in a book that can be downloaded in PDF format (6.6 MB).
