The Leprosy Mission’s vision is for a world without leprosy and our goal is to eradicate the causes and consequences of leprosy. We are an international Christian organisation, active in over 50 countries around the world, employing over 2,000 staff.

Founded in 1874, The Leprosy Mission is one of the largest and longest-serving mission organisations dedicated to working with leprosy-affected people. Its founder, Wellesley Bailey, saw the devastating effects of the disease in India around the same time that Father Damien first set foot on Molokai.
