Dear Dr. Noto,

 

We are in agreement with the letter from Dr. Stephen Griffiths (LML March 23rd, 2005).  It seems to be "overkill" to amputate limbs because of their neuropathic status.  There are thousands of patients with gross neuropathic feet being managed conservatively (special footwear-FAB etc.).
