Dear Dr Ji,
Thank you very
much for your Comments on the WHO/AFRO’s “Post-Elimination”
Strategy Paper (

, LML June 3rd, 2005). If
taken into consideration they would represent a relevant contribution
towards the preparation of a new and appropriate strategy paper.
I would add
that it is unacceptable the wrong use the words: “post” and
“elimination”.
In the table
herewith enclosed are reported in red
the data of new cases of leprosy detected in
Africa
in the years 2002 and 2003. They show that there has been no
elimination.
“Post”
means “after”; there cannot be any post-elimination if there was
no elimination in the first place!
