Dear Dr Noto,

 

As your readers may know, the ILEP Technical Commission (ITC) through its eight experts in different areas of leprosy work provides advice to the Members of the Federation on technical matters.

 

In order to provide advice on a particular subject, the ITC often asks one of its members, or an invited expert, to prepare a discussion document to serve as input into ITC discussions on this subject. The ITC has now posted two of these discussion documents on the ILEP website so that more people with expertise in and experience of the subject under discussion may contribute to the ITC advisory process.  Comment from such people is warmly invited.

 

The two topics under discussion are;

 

Monitoring of epidemiological trends of leprosy and validation of data  and

 

The coverage of leprosy services

 

These documents do not pretend to be complete; they are documents for discussion purposes only and will remain on the website for a limited length of time. They do not constitute official ITC advice.
