Dear Salvatore,
In the context of clinical usefulness, in a patient posing the vexing
question of relapse versus reaction, the absence of solid staining
bacilli, that is only beaded forms, is evidence for relapse.
Whether or not a clinical decision would be made on this basis alone
is not known, but it could be important.
