 Dear Dr Rao,

 

After the statement of the WHO that leprosy was not a public health problem anymore in their particular country, most governments redirected their funds towards other priorities like e.g. HIV and tuberculosis. As a consequence most forms of case finding were halted. India is not the only country where we may fear that the decrease of new cases (incidence) is not a reliable reflection of their leprosy problem.
