The ILA's Global Project on the History of
Leprosy website does not have any information on the events that Nobu (LML Oct. 25th, 2006) is referring to.
As Mrs Yamaguchi indicates, Professor
Jiang Cheng at the National
Institute of STD/HIV and Leprosy, CAMS in Nanjing has done the
investigation into this matter. (I haven't seen the book that she
refers to).
I have seen a reference to a massacre in
the International Journal of Leprosy at about that time.
There is also some correspondence from
China referring to shootings in the archives at the Leprosy Mission
International, Brentford. (There is also a photographic archive
there for the period that he refers to).
But I think Nobu
may be aware of these and is in fact wanting to know if anyone else
knows more.
