Editors of Periodicals in Leprosy, a Tabulation View

A Project by Leprosy Mailing List

Khalid M. Al Aboud, MD

Dermatology Department, King Faisal Hospital, Makkah, Saudi Arabia

Dear All,

Leprosy is a chronic granulomatous disease caused by Mycobacterium leprae, an acid-fast bacillus.  It may cause disabilities to the patients by its neurological complications.  It is a very old human disease and still remains an important health problem in several countries of Asia, Africa and Latin America.

Leprosy is among a few diseases in the history of medicine that attracted physicians to devote special periodicals in its name.

In this project I am trying to compile a table about the history of leprosy periodicals; particularly about the Editors of these periodicals.  I would like inviting colleagues from the Leprosy Mailing List to comments add, and amend the table in attachment, to reach to a comprehensive view about this aspect of leprosy history.

In attachment is an Excel file to show the draft of the format I am using.  Kindly, forward your contributions to this subject to myself or to Dr Noto.
