Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) in leprosy

Dear Dr Khalid al Aboud,
I assume that the occurrence of basal cell
carcinoma in the eyelid region has no relationship with a longstanding
leprosy. In my clinic, in patients
with a long-lasting follow up, I have not encountered basal cell
carcinomas. In case nerve
destruction might play a role, for which I don't know any evidence,
one would expect them to be localised at the areas of nerve
destruction, by the previous leprosy lesions.
