In the past
30 years corticosteroids have been the first drug of choice for
treating neuritis in leprosy. In
spite of this and with a wide variety of regimens that were
used, no one has ever found a regimen that is really effective in
restoring nerve function up to a functional level. Should we therefore not simply
conclude that we urgently need other tools!
