it happens. I saw quite a
few in the 1960s and 70s. Usually
before the patient come for any treatment. Yes,
reconstructive surgery is difficult. But it is not necessary.
It can hardly be called an emergency.
Provide the patients with an artificial palate like used to
provide dentures! The patient is much more comfortable and
looses the nasal component of speech, and his drink no longer goes up
his nose.
