Through
the Raoul Follereau International School of Learning (Follereau
School), AIFO regularly organises training courses, seminars, workshops etc. not just
in Italy but also in countries where it is active. Some of the recent
activities organised by AIFO include:

International
workshop on "Bringing a Change - communicating to
communities about sensitive themes like sexuality and domestic
violence", in Montesilvano (Italy) in October 2005. Full report of

conference on Gratuity and Volunteerism held in
Montesilvano (Italy) in October 2005

National workshop of AIFO supported projects in Brazil (June-July
2005, Belem- Parà, Brazil)

An
international workshop on role of self-help client groups or focus
groups involving DPOs and researchers for the initiative "A New
Paradigm of medical care for persons with disabilities" in collaboration with
WHO/DAR was held in Rome, Italy in April 2005.

International
workshop for International Training centres involved in training
of CBR programme managers (February 2003, Bologna, Italy) - in
collaboration with WHO/DAR. Report

Three
weeks International training course for CBR managers (June-July
2003, Bologna, Italy) - in collaboration with World Health
Organisation (WHO/DAR) and
Physiotherapists Without Borders (Emilia Romagna) with support
from International Labour Organisation (ILO) and Food &
Agriculture Organisation (FAO).
Future
Meetings & workshops in 2006-07
1. A second
three weeks international training course for CBR programme managers is
being planned together with WHO/DAR to be held in May/June 2007. Possible venues for this course include Rome,
Bangalore and Bangkok.
2. First
meeting of facilitators from the international initiative "New
Paradigm of medical Care for persons with disabilities" is
being planned for March/April 2007. More

3. For a joint
IDDC initiative (International Consortium on Disability &
Development), co-funded by European Commission, AIFO is organising a
series of meetings in Italy on mainstreaming of disability issues in
development work. These meetings will be held throughout 2006.
4. For a
joint project with Italian NGOs, co-funded by Italian Foreign Ministry,
AIFO is planning a south Asian regional meeting on Traditional Medicine to be
held in Bangalore (India). The dates for this meeting have been
decided - 13 to 15 December 2006. More information about

5. AIFO is
planning a small meeting of community-based rehabilitation projects
working with persons with mental illness. This meeting will also be
held in Bangalore (India). This meeting is being planned on 12 December
2006.
